The Power of Expressive Arts Therapy
Creative expression has long been recognized as a powerful tool for healing and self-discovery. Through Expressive Arts Therapy, we can tap into our inner resources, explore our emotions, and gain new insights into ourselves. Now, more than ever is important to provide trauma-informed care, and Expressive Arts Therapy has become an essential part of trauma treatment.

What is Expressive Arts Therapy?
Expressive Arts Therapy combine the visual arts, movement, drama, music, writing, and other creative therapies to foster deep personal growth and community development. IEATA (the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association) encourages an evolving multimodal approach within psychology, organizational development, community arts and education. By integrating the arts processes and allowing one to flow into another, we gain access to our inner resources for healing, clarity, and growth.

Visual Journaling Workshops
One of the best things about visual journaling is that you do not have to be an artist or have any previous experience, much less talent to practice. We all can express our emotions and feelings using the language of images. Visual journaling may help you to express yourself as you get in connection with your emotions, feelings, thoughts, and creative intuition. You don't need to have any art experience. We'll take you through the deep of layers and layers of painting, collages, and writing until the pages of your journal speak to you. The messages you receive from your images will show you what changes you need to make in your life to begin your healing from within.

Introduction to Expressive Art TherapyExpressive arts therapy is an approach to psychotherapy with roots in indigenous cultures and a rich history of evolution within modalities such as Jungian, person-centered, and Gestalt psychotherapies. Defined by its emphasis on the multi-modal process of healing (exploring many combinations for creativity rather than relying on just one art form), the strategies of expressive arts psychotherapy can prove useful to trauma therapists practicing in a variety of modalities. In this workshop, participants are oriented to the fundamentals of expressive arts therapy history and approach.
