Irene M. Rodriguez, M.S., LMHC, REAT (EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Trainer) is the founder and director of Mindful Journey Center. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT), and Network Faculty Member of the Institute for Creative Mindfulness (ICM)
After completing her Dancing Mindfulness Facilitator Training, Irene went on to join the Institute for Creative Mindfulness in 2015. There she became one of only a handful of EMDR therapy trainers offering Spanish language training in the US and Caribbean. She has presented nationally on sexual violence, trauma, mindfulness, and clinical compassion fatigue, since opening her private practice in 2012. She is known for her ability to meet trainees where they are at as they learn new concepts. Irene builds relationships with trainees that foster skill development with compassion and guidance. Through trauma focused modalities such as EMDR therapy and the expressive arts, we demonstrate that healing is possible, and we can show up as our authentic true selves. Trainings with Irene Rodriguez are about creating space for us to allow our creative and expressive potential to blossom and explore our inner worlds. With expertise, humor, and compassion, Irene seeks to help other connect with the center of their own mindful journeys.

Real healing is an inside job. As therapists, we must be willing to do the inner work too in order to help facilitate an effective therapeutic process for our clients. We must be open to experimenting with new ways of seeing the world and exploring ourselves. That is why trainings with Irene are first about getting in touch with ourselves and then learning how to invite clients down those paths with clinically grounded skills and a human-centered approach.
Irene Rodriguez began practicing in community health, going on to train extensively in addiction, trauma, EMDR, and expressive arts, as well as specializing in compassion fatigue. Her background in community health and trauma therapy translates to workshops and trainings that foster a sense of community, fun, and the ability to let go of our judgments about ourselves and others in developing the necessary skills to help others.
Learning isn't just about sitting around listening to an expert drop on - it's about experiencing it for ourselves. At a Mindful Journey Center we will dance, we might event sing, and we will definitely laugh.
